Buffalo Through Their Eyes 2013
Journey’s End is hosting Buffalo Through Their Eyes, on Thursday, December 5 at CEPA Gallery (617 Main Street, Buffalo, NY). The show will feature the photographs of up to 15 refugee artists documenting their lives including their families, schools, workplaces, and community. It’s an opportunity for our clients to express themselves through art and showcase our important work of welcoming refugees to the community.
The project includes training from CEPA in framing and shooting photographs, with bi-weekly discussion and critique of the artists’ work in the months leading up to the show.
Previous shows have been rehung at the Bufalo Historical Society, Medaille College, and Buffalo State College. The photographs are often reminiscent of many of our own families’ photos shortly after arriving in the United States, while at the same time giving a fresh and hopeful perspective on the future of Buffalo.
The event will be held from 6-9 PM and is open to the public. Also if you’re with an organization, please consider purchasing an ad or sponsorship. Join as we celebrate the work of our clients and the blessings of resettlement.
