Buffalo Through Their Eyes 2013
Journey’s End hosted Buffalo Through Their Eyes, on Thursday, December 5 at CEPA Gallery (617 Main Street, Buffalo, NY). The show featured the photographs of up to 15 refugee artists documenting their lives including their families, schools, workplaces, and community. It was an opportunity for our clients to express themselves through art and showcase our important work of welcoming refugees to the community.
The project included training from CEPA in framing and shooting photographs, with bi-weekly discussion and critique of the artists’ work in the months leading up to the show.
Previous shows have been rehung at the Bufalo Historical Society, Medaille College, and Buffalo State College. The photographs are often reminiscent of many of our own families’ photos shortly after arriving in the United States, while at the same time giving a fresh and hopeful perspective on the future of Buffalo.
Photos will hang at CEPA Gallery through January 7.
