Position Title: ECC Pathways ELL Teacher
Supervisor: Coordinator of Educational Services
Status: Full Time, hourly, starting at $14.50 - $17.00

Job Description:

The Pathways ESL Teacher's primary responsibility will be focused on the development and implementation of the ELL curriculum aligned with New York State's Test Assessing Secondary Completion (TASC) standards as well as teaching an intermediate ELL class to adults.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Design and Implement the ESL curricula and activities to meet academic standards.
  • Develop level appropriate differentiated techniques and strategies addressing all aspects of communication that enhance each student's ability to read, write, speak, and listen in content areas at levels that ensure learners meet or exceed learning targets.
  • Develop ESL assessments that measure progress towards academic standards.
  • Use assessment data and reflection to refine curriculum and change instructional practices.
  • Participate in collaborative curriculum development and grade-level activities.
  • Create a nurturing, supportive, and positive learning environment in a diverse classroom with high expectations that encourage student responsibility and enhance motivation.
  • Attend all staff meetings and common JERS responsibilities.
  • Additional duties as assigned.


  • Master's degree or Bachelor's degree with two years' experience.
  • Valid New York State Teacher certification preferred.
  • TABE Test and BEST Plus Administrator preferred.
  • Experience working with the refugee population or in a diverse classroom environment.
  • Possess the ability to be flexible, creative, and willing to collaborate with other teachers.
