Supervisor: Deputy Director
Status: Full-time, hourly, non-exempt

Journey's End Refugee Services, Inc. is a refugee resettlement and immigration services provider for the Western New York Region. Journey's End works to assist newly arriving refugees to find gainful employment and avoid dependency on social services.

Program Description:

Journey's End is adding a member to our Interpreting & Translation Team. Journey's End provides interpreting and translation services to local and national customers. Our outstanding staff provides language assistance to medical providers, legal services, as well as various government and educational institutions.

Job Description:

The Sales & Recruitment Coordinator will be responsible for growing and retaining our customer base for our interpreting department. This person will be going out into the community to develop and strengthen relationships with our customers as well as potential customers to ensure satisfaction and promote awareness about our program..

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist to create marketing materials for customers as well as interpreters.
  • Identify and conduct face-to- face outreach to potential new customers to develop marketing materials, consistent with agency messaging.
  • Maintain strategic communications with current JERS customers to ensure customer satisfaction and retain and increase volume of interpreting appointments. Work with Interpreting Services Manager to identify new trends in the industry and how to respond appropriately.
  • Identify and table at appropriate community events to help market JERS interpreting and translation services.
  • Partake in planning expansion of JERS interpreting market.
  • Learn policies and procedures regarding the daily operations of the Interpreting Services Department, including but not limited to the online scheduling system for interpreters, to assist other staff as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with JERS Interpreting & Translation team.
  • Other duties as assigned.


  • B.A. in marketing, communications, or business.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Powerpoint, and experience with graphic design software such as InDesign, Adobe, or similar products.
  • Excellent communications skills, both oral and written, along with outstanding customer service skills.
  • Interpreting experience is a plus.
  • Highly self-motivated and strategic in approach to their work, with an ability to think outside the box and identify and develop creative ways and means to market JERS interpreting services.
  • 1-3 years sales and training experience preferred, with a demonstrated record of success.
  • Community outreach experience and skills highly desirable.
  • A strong interest in growing a business within a non-profit environment, and working with people from diverse cultures and backgrounds. Knowledge of the Buffalo refugee community is a plus.
  • A driver's license, clean driving record, and access to an automobile are required for this position.
