Journey’s End Refugee Services, Inc. is a refugee resettlement and immigration services provider for the Western New York Region. Journey’s End works to assist newly arriving refugees to find gainful employment and avoid dependency on social services.
Supervisor: DIRECTOR OF GRANTS AND DATA
Status: Full-time, HOURLY, NON-exempt $14/HOUR
The Program Assistant will report to the Director of Grants and Data and work closely with the Director of Educational Programs, the Director of Employment, and the Refugee Asylee Mentoring Program (RAMP) Manager. The position provides administrative support to the employment, education and RAMP programs; and may include some direct support of clients within those programs.
Provide administrative support, including file management and data entry
Assist Program Directors and Grants Managers in completing reporting and billing for a variety of funding sources
Maintain and review client files to ensure files are in line with contract(s) and grant requirements
Assist in tracking program progress toward contract goals
Serve as point of contact and resource for clients regarding school closures, schedule, and other service referrals to community partners, as necessary
Assist with intakes for new clients for all three programs
Assist the program directors in developing and coordinating field trips, workshops, guest speakers, job club, outreach engagements, participant and mentor recruitment, and other events
Order and maintain supplies
Drive clients and use agency vehicle as necessary
Other duties as assigned
Highly organized and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
A four-year degree and fluency in English are required.
Strong written and verbal communication skills and acute attention to detail.
High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Google Calendar, and online database systems is required.
Self-directed and able to work in a team environment.
Preference will be given to candidates with experience working with youth or diverse populations.
Driver’s license required.
This is a full time and salaried position. Benefits and retirement package are included. Candidates that have three or more years of experience as an attorney, two or more years of immigration law experience, and the ability to communicate in a language other than English are preferred.
